I am just one of the millions of college students across america who might not be receiving the stimulus check supposed to help the majority of our country stay on their feet during this crisis. However college students that were claimed by their parents are not eligible for any kind of assistance.

I believe that the government should be investing in students to create a better future for our country. A sum of 600 per qualified dependent will be added on to a family s share but when is it possible. Despite this because i am filed as a dependent neither myself nor my parents will get any rebates.

The stimulus check was a great idea and will help many people while we are going through covid 19 but what about us dependents the college students we need the stimulus check as well just because we are dependent does not mean that we don t pay for our own taxes or pay for housing and school and pay for everything that we need in life all our necessities. During the spread of coronavirus college students have been displaced across the country. With the passage of the stimulus package many people are going to be able to make ends meet during this pandemic.

Are college students eligible for payment. As a student i work two part time jobs to help my parents pay for tuition both of which i am unable to continue due to this virus wiping the needs for workers and displacing me from my college campus.

There is a rule that dependents under the age of 24 that are still claimed on their parent s taxes do not qualify for the check. It s frustrating to think of how the college system is rigged. Most college students pay for everything themselves such as rent utilities and etc.

Students have faced financial issues due to the pandemic but have not received any financial help.
